As many of you know, I have been quite active over the last 6 months in LinkedIn groups. I am part of 50 total groups (the limit set by LinkedIn) and I made sure I joined groups made up of those in my industry (Logistics) and those of my customers (Manufacturing, Distribution, Supply Chain, and Freight Shippers). In this way, I figured it would be a good vehicle for me to meet other professionals and engage in meaningful conversations in order to stay on top of my industry with the latest trends, and get to know my customers’ and potential customers’ mindset so I may better position products and services which solve problems and add value. Little did I know that when I started my adventure that I would really fall in love with the idea that I could post a question in several LinkedIn groups and so efficiently receive and respond to comments on those discussions. It was clear to me very quickly that LinkedIn groups allowed me to easily reach my peers and those in my customers base’s industries in order to learn and collaborate at the speed of light.
Now, I must be transparent here a bit, LinkedIn has also done wonders in the way of increasing brand awareness for my company as our team produces what we hope is valuable content to also discuss, read, and share within these LinkedIn Groups. We always try and stay as objective and journalistic in nature writing about topics which add value to each of the different categories of groups I belong to in LinkedIn. So far, the results have paid off; we went from just a few hundred visits to our website per day, to now well over double that amount in just a short time period of our content marketing efforts. I highly recommend you invest some time in developing a content marketing strategy, but to stay as objective in nature as possible and add value. You don’t have to try so hard to SELL on LinkedIn….add value, and you look like the expert!
With that said, I wanted to give all in the industry the opportunity to show their expertise and bring all the different group categories into one super group made up of all those industries that overlap in amazing Venn Diagrams. So I made a group to join where we could all discuss the trends, issues, and collaborate on ideas within the Manufacturing, Distribution, Supply Chain, Logistics, Transportation and Freight industries. They overlap so much so, that I felt it was important to ask all of my connections to join the group. So now, I ask you, the reader to join! If you are looking for a group where you can network and learn from others in the industries of Manufacturing, Distribution, Supply Chain, Logistics, Transportation, or Freight, then this is the group for you!
Feel free to join the group and when you do make sure you go to our Welcome Discussion to introduce yourself. I only ask that you post information that is of value to the industries stated and spurs discussion. Some hot topics I suggest to discuss are the following:
Please feel free to join me in the Manufacturing, Distribution, Supply Chain, Logistics, Transportation and Freight Networking Group.
