What You Would Be Doing:

  • Assist customers with the best solutions for their non-traditional shipments
  • Respond and process quotes for customers in a timely and efficient manner
  • Inform the customer of the process and what to expect throughout the process
  • Consistent follow up on the status of the issue
  • Make non-solicitation outbound phone calls when further follow-up is needed
  • Ensure our customers are billed according to their customer specific business rules
  • Prepare shipping documents to initiate the shipment, then follow that shipment through until final delivery
  • Prioritize and resolve issues by utilizing decision-making skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask between various shipping requests, using solid computer and written communication skills
  • Educate the customer on process improvements to help reduce the occurrence of future issues
  • Ability to follow through and be proactive with outbound communication to our customers
  • Ability to process requests as determined by company provided documentation
  • Become familiar with the shipping trends and patterns of the customers, vendors and carriers

Who We Are Looking For:

As a Special Services team member, you must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) as well as solid organizational, multitasking and time management skills to provide the best possible customer service. Other skills include:

  • Possesses organizational, multitasking and time management skills
  • Independent thinker with strong analytical, creative problem solving and strategic thinking skills
  • Professional interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Excellent follow through with attention to detail on issues that can last multiple days
  • Utilization of trend analytical skills
  • Demonstrated timely, consistent job attendance history
  • Self-motivated and able to thrive in a fast-paced team environment
  • Team member that excels in a changing, growing and innovative environment
  • Efficient data entry skills
  • 1+ years of freight industry experience
  • Specific experience with LTL carriers is a plus
  • High school diploma or equivalent
