What You Would Be Doing:

Our Freight Desk Agent acts as a liaison between Cerasis, our customers, and our carriers by answering and addressing their calls and emails in a timely manner.

  • Provide exceptional service and personalized solutions when facing escalated situations
  • Multitask by using efficient computer skills and professional communication
  • Act as a liaison between Cerasis, our customers, and our carriers
  • Review the information submitted that explains the circumstances of the issue
  • Accurately determine proper course of action based on the unique circumstances
  • Inform the customer of the process and what to expect throughout the process
  • Consistent follow up on the status of the issue
  • Send letter of authorization requests to carriers as necessary
  • Ensure our customers are billed according to their customer specific business rules
  • Educate the customer on process improvements to help reduce the occurrence of future issues
  • Process requests efficiently while updating our operating system with any applicable documentation
  • Prioritize and resolve issues by utilizing decision-making skills and attention to detail

Become familiar with the shipping trends and patterns of the customers, vendors and carriers

Who We Are Looking For:

As a Freight Desk Agent, you must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) as well as solid organizational, multitasking and time management skills to provide the best possible customer service. Other skills include:

  • Possesses organizational, multitasking and time management skills in both data entry and communication
  • Independent thinker with strong analytical, creative problem solving and strategic thinking skills
  • Professional interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Displayed de-escalation skills during elevated situations in previous position(s)
  • Excellent follow through with attention to detail on issues that can last multiple days
  • Demonstrated ability to teach and facilitate process improvements to customers
  • Demonstrated timely, consistent job attendance history
  • Self-motivated and able to thrive in a fast-paced team environment
  • Empathy to customers and their needs
  • Prior customer service experience, preferred if in the freight industry
  • College degree is preferred
