Robert Johnson, Vice President of Information Systems
Robert Johnson was one of the first developers of the Cerasis Rater and strategic key hire, setting off a dedicated technology and development team within the walls of Cerasis. As Vice President of Information Systems, Mr. Johnson oversees the development of IT solutions for better freight management software, working with both internal employees and external customers.
Additionally, as part of the ownership group that includes Steve Ludvigson and Steve Norall, Robert establishes the strategic vision and direction of the company, continually moving Cerasis forward by creating long-term, sustainable, and user-friendly solutions.
Robert Johnson started out in the IT field in 1984 as an application developer on the American Airlines Sabre System as a part of the team that converted the outdated air control program (ACP) to the newer standard in the technology field, transaction process facility (TPF), for the Sabre System. Many industries started moving to TPF as the transaction operating system became more widely implemented by businesses other than the major airlines, such as online credit card processing, hotel and rental car reservations, police emergency response systems, and package delivery systems. These programs and operating systems were early ERP-like programs, with integration capabilities. This background armed Mr. Johnson with the expertise and confidence to handle integration of the Cerasis Rater to our customers' ERP systems.
In 1995, Robert started his own technology consulting business with his wife, Ann. The Johnsons worked with small businesses doing network and IBM Midrange Systems Development, developing IT strategies and providing IT support.
In short, Mr. Johnson is a programmer at heart and has programmed in many different languages, having worked with databases for over twenty-five years. To this day, he still loves working and developing all kinds of business applications including the Rater, CarrierLINK, and internal business web-applications.
Robert attended Oklahoma State University and graduated with a BS degree in computer science with a minor in mathematics.
Mr. Johnson lives in Tulsa Oklahoma with his wife Ann of twenty-five years. They have three daughters and one son. Robert has attended the same church for over fifty years, and when he is not busy with Cerasis, he is busy with his church as church treasurer and working with the Audio Video Ministry. In his free time, Robert enjoys spending time with family and friends.
